    We carry many of the top bridal gown, bridesmaid, flower girl, and social occasion dress designers that you see in major bridal publications, such as Bride's and Modern Bride.  Please click on the above links for complete listings.

  3. I saw a gown I liked in a bridal magazine.  If you carry the designer but do not have the sample in stock, can you order it?

    Yes!  We would love to carry every gown that our designers make, but it is just not possible.  Instead, we choose a select group of gowns each season that we feel our customers will love.  This lets us enhance our selection of in-stock gowns and gives us the ability to special-order any gown for purchase.  We stock a wide selection of styles! Chances are we will have a dress that is similar so that you can get an idea of how that style looks on you before placing your order.

  5. Can you order a dress from a designer that you do not carry?

    No.  Although we could use so-called "buying services" we choose not to because it's just too risky!  We only order dresses through designers that we have built solid relationships with over the years.  This way we can follow the progress of your order from start to finish to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.  This also gives us access to special services that the designer might offer to truly personalize your gown, such as changing the fabric, adjusting the train length, or adding sleeves.

  7. Do you sell gowns off-the-rack or do they have to be ordered?

    We do both! If we carry the designer we can special-order any of their dresses for purchase, whether we have the sample in stock or not. If we do have “the dress” in stock, you always have the option of purchasing it off-the-rack. In addition, quick alterations are never a problem!

  9. What is the average delivery time for a special order dress?

    Delivery times can vary by designer, but most bridal gowns are delivered to us in 12 to 16 weeks and most bridesmaid dresses are delivered in 8 to 12 weeks. If you are having your wedding gown customized it may take slightly longer.  Many of our designers offer a rush service, usually for an additional charge, that can significantly shorten the delivery time.  We can also call the designer and have them check to see if they have the dress you want in stock.  Once your dress arrives we will notify you immediately.  We are always honest and realistic with delivery times and have never failed to get a dress in time!

  11. How do I determine my dress size?

    Once you have selected your gown we will need your measurements so we can help you determine the best size.  These measurements are typically your bust, waist, hip, and height.  We will then compare your measurements to the designer's size chart to determine the best size for you.  Just keep in mind that bridal and formal gowns are cut according to a couture size chart and run smaller than the ready-to-wear clothing you buy at the mall.  It is not unusual to order a gown 1 to 2 sizes larger than what you usually wear.  Sizes can also vary by designer since they each work from their own size chart.  An 8 from one designer may be an inch smaller than another designer's size 8.  Still another thing to keep in mind is that dresses are cut according to the designer's size chart, not to your measurements.  If you come into the store to order we will gladly show you the designer's size chart and recommend the best size for you to keep your alterations minimal.

  13. I'm very petite/tall. Can I order a dress that is the right length for me?

    Yes! Our bridal gown designers offer the option of ordering your dress in a custom length (also called a “hollow-to-hem”). This allows them to accommodate brides of almost any height. In addition, some of our bridal gown designers offer their gowns in petite sizes. The services offered by our bridesmaid dress designers are a little different. They do not offer custom lengths or petite sizes, but they do offer extra length, which adds 5 inches to the skirt length. This is recommended for anyone who is 5’-8” or taller in shoes.

  15. How do I place an order for a dress?

    You can place the order in person, online, or by fax; whichever is most convenient for you.  We also accept orders for bridesmaid dresses over the Internet through our secure Bridesmaid Order Form. We will be happy to mail or fax you an order form and size chart! We cannot accept orders over the telephone, but you may call with your credit card number after you have sent in your signed order form or submitted your online form.

  17. What payment options do you offer?

    We offer free layaway for as long as you need to pay off your gown. When you place your order, we require a down payment of 50% percent of the total price of the dress, including sales tax.  The down payment may be paid with cash, check, or credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover). The remaining balance is due before alterations begin. If you are not having your dress altered here, then the balance is due on pick up. You may make monthly or weekly payments or pay the balance all at once – it is up to you. Final payments must be cash or credit card.

  19. Will you ship my dress to me?

    Yes!  We will ship to any U.S. and U.S. military address accepted by UPS so that your gown is tracked and fully insured.  Shipping rates vary according to distance, package size, and weight. We are always happy to provide you with an estimate!  To do so we will need your complete shipping address.  This service is especially convenient for brides who are having their weddings out of town and bridesmaids who live out-of-town!

    Please note: Duties and/or taxes may be due on international shipments and are the responsibility of the customer. We have no way of knowing what these might be. You would need to contact your local Customs office or a Customs broker for more information.

  21. Are alterations included in your dress prices?

    No.  Alteration prices can vary greatly depending on the style, fabric, beading, and extent of alterations needed.  For this reason all alterations are priced on an individual basis once our seamstress has seen you in your dress and can see exactly what is required to custom fit  your dress.  Most bridal and formal dresses require some sort of alteration for a perfect fit.  An experienced bridal seamstress who does quality work and is willing to take the time needed with each and every customer is the key to achieving a perfect fit.  In our experience, free alterations are often rushed and usually result in poor workmanship, an ill-fitted dress, or worse.

  23. I bought my dress somewhere else, will you alter it?

    Yes!  With over 60 years combined experience, our expert seamstresses can alter bridal gowns, bridesmaids, flower girls, formal dresses, tuxedos, suits, and any other type of garment!  In addition, all fittings and alterations are done in our store.

  25. What items do I need for my dress fittings?

    You will need to bring everything that you will be wearing with your dress, like your bra, slip, pantyhose, and shoes. Changing these items after your first fitting can dramatically affect the way your dress fits and cause twice as many alterations.  We stock all of these items and suggest visiting us prior to your first fitting appointment to select or order them.  While we do stock shoes, they are the most often ordered items, especially if they need to be dyed (we do not dye shoes in our store).  We suggest allowing 2 to 4 weeks if you plan to order shoes.

  27. When should I start my fittings?

    As a rule, dress fittings should begin 1-2 months before your wedding. If you are dieting, you may want to wait until 1 month before your event to begin your fittings. If you are planning on having your gown customized you may need to start your alterations earlier. (Customizing a gown involves alterations above and beyond typical alterations, such as adding lace or beading, adding or removing sleeves, or other dramatic changes in the design of your dress.)
